A workshop for professionals who are involved in facilitating supported living for people with PWS, i.e. NASC organisations, residential care managers/coordinators, behaviour support services and clinicians. There will be presentations on the issues involved in supporting people with PWS, followed by time for questions and a panel discussion around how we can work together to facilitate good lives for people with PWS.

Dr Forster is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specialising in Developmental Neuropsychiatry. She has evaluated hundreds of patients with PWS during her work as a consultant at an inpatient rehabilitation programme, and became a co-founder of The Pittsburgh Partnership, USA, specialists in treating individuals with PWS. Dr Forster is an internationally renowned expert and popular speaker on the behavioural phenotype of PWS and the management of children and adults with the syndrome. She has presented by invitation at PWS conferences around the world and features in a widely distributed DVD titled 'Food, Behaviour and Beyond'.

John Ford is a psychologist who specialises in behaviour change for people with developmental disabilities and is completing his doctorate in Psychology at Massey University in Wellington. His doctoral thesis investigates the outcomes associated with different types of residential services to adults with PWS in New Zealand. John recently presented at the International Prader-Willi Syndrome Professional Caregivers conference in Toronto this year on "Resolving the challenges inherent in our work."

Our next family camp is being held in Hanmer Springs and we look forward to seeing you there! This camp is now full, but we aim to host camps bi-annually. Our camps are for families of all ages or adults with a carer. We offer subsidised camp fees for individuals who have PWS, careworkers attending with adults, family siblings and up to 2 family carers. We are usually able to offer some assistance with travel costs for those coming from further afield.

At Hanmer Springs, we will spend Saturday at the thermal pools and will enjoy a walk together on Sunday morning, which will also be the official start of our Virtual Marathon.

Cost: $40 per adult, $25 per child (under 5 free)
