Young Families Support Weekend 2026

Our Young Families Support Weekends are child-friendly, social get-togethers for parents of infants and young children diagnosed with PWS – an opportunity to connect with others, ask questions, and to share stories, information and advice. Our programme will also include some focused sessions on relevant topics, such as nutrition and transition to school.
An email invitation will be sent to families who have children that meet the age criteria. The email contains a code that allows you to book tickets.

The weekend begins on Friday at 5.30pm with a social dinner at 6pm. All families are welcome to come along on Friday, but we understand that families based in Auckland may prefer to join on Saturday morning.

Accommodation
For families travelling from outside the Auckland area, a hotel room will be available. We have rooms reserved that sleep 3, 4, or max 5 guests.
Families may check into their rooms anytime after usual check-in time.
Tickets
$50 / adult, $35 / child (5-10 years), $25 preschoolers (3-4 years), infants and toddlers are free.
Registration includes 2 nights accommodation (if eligible), meals, and any activities.

Flight Subsidies
For families travelling to Auckland from the South Island or the lower North Island, flight subsidies are available. To claim a flight subsidy, just send us a copy of your booking receipt with your bank account number. It is preferred if families have registered first.
The flight subsidy offered has been calculated based on approximately 80% of the current fare from each city. (Please note that fares tend to increase closer to the travel dates.)
Subsidies include one checked bag per family.
To keep costs down, we recommend opting out of seat selection.
Subsidies are as follows:
Whanganui – up to $326pp (calculated using Air Chathams)
Palmerston North – up to $238pp and with checked bag $262 (calculated using Air NZ)
Wellington – up to $238pp and with checked bag $278 + $24 infant on lap charge (calculated using Jetstar)
Nelson – up to $259pp and with checked bag $307 (calculated using Air NZ)
Christchurch – up to $206pp and with checked bag $253 + $24 infant on lap charge (calculated using Jetstar)
If you will be travelling from another location, please ask us for the subsidy amount.
